Reducing Plastic Consumption

PLASTIC! Something that had blasted into our lives and is going to stay for the foreseaable future. While there are hundreds of uses for plastic, it is harmful for nature as most of the plastic, after their usage, is getting dumped into the oceans. I see articles every day on how plastic dumped into ocean is affecting our marine life and it makes me sad :(. After seeing those articles for long, I wanted to do something to help change it. Or at the least, not add to the existing situation. This is when I made some choices in reducing my plastic consumption in day-to-day life Re-usable Shopping bags: I started purchasing re-usable (usually made out of recycled plastic) shopping bags at every store I make purchases. Wholefoods, Walmart, Shoprite and T.J.Max. And boy! This is a game changer. Our usage of one-time use plastic bags at the grocery stores has reduced by 95% with in couple of weeks.
